Junkyard Bots is a 2D mobile shooter game for ages 12 and up. Players are given a Bot (Robot) that they can upgrade and take into battle! Battles pit Bots against each other in a shootout to decide the winner.

MODES

While Junkyard Bots boasts tons of game content (Weapons, Shields, Bodies, Boosters, Obstacles etc.) , players were quick to point out that it needed more modes to add variety.

MODE TIME !

Junkyard Bots is a unique game in it's own right, but it could be benchmarked against other titles for a little inspiration. Once we determined titles similar enough, we researched different modes that others had introduced.

ENDLESS MODE

TOURNAMENT MODE

Endless Mode included Boss fights & unlimited enemies.

Tournament Mode included 4 Levels of difficulty & 10 opponents to defeat!

On paper we were able to come up with numerous modes to introduce, but only two of them really stuck out and were trending at the time         (Tournament & Endless Mode).

SUCCESS!

Tournament Mode - This gave users the opportunity to win much larger prizes but ensured that they had to lay out more coin upfront. This Mode resulted in much longer sessions times and increased retention.


Endless Mode - This gave users that uninterrupted gameplay that they were yearning for, it also allowed us to Introduce Boss Fights which players loved! This Mode resulted This Mode resulted in much longer sessions times and increased retention, we also noticed that players started to invest more coin into their bots.
