Rescue Plan is a F2P mobile game for all ages & is targeted at users that enjoy solving puzzles. The goal of the game is to save your fellow 'Twinkie' friends by landing on their Island. To do this you will need to smash pieces of wood & ensure your twinkie does not fall off any Islands.

DROP OFF

Once the game was live and we had enough users playing, we looked through our analytics and noticed a drop off of users at Level 12 in the game. I discovered this through the level funneling data which was implemented.

A booster was initially given as a free gift to players for Level 12.

This proved to be unsuccessful in fixing the Drop Off.

LEVEL ADJUSTMENTS

Upon inspecting Level 12, I didn't notice anything untoward. The level had no bugs or issues regarding performance, however I did notice that the level of difficulty from from the previous level had increased somewhat.

The approach of adjusting Level 12 was quite simple. In order to keep users playing on, the level of difficulty needed to be decreased. Previous levels were assessed in order to gauge a more gradual increase in difficulty & changes were made.

SUCCESS!

Once the changes to Level 12 had been made, a newer version was published. I checked new the changes against all of our new players to see if we there was still a drop off at Level 12. Fortunately, the new level design had fixed our issue.
